This is not a thread about Camberwick Green, but as the Forum doesnt have a general
discussion heading, I have put it here !!!
I know everyone must have a subject/ programme they would like to see modelled by
RH, and no doubt they get bombarded by various requests all the time.
I would like to see the Diddymen, from Ken Dodd and the Diddymen, produced. They
could be modelled in usual camberwick size (approx 5 - 6 inches), there are quite a
few characters and are very colourful. I have emailed RH before requesting Diddymen,
so heres another plea via the forum. Any chance ????

Hi Half
I've moved this thread to a new General Discussion section as suggested.
As for the Diddymen, if enough people show an interest, then you never know!
If anyone else has any more suggestions, then we would love to hear from you.

So, just me for Diddymen then !?!? DOH !
A series of figurines from Pugwash were produced some years ago by Sugarlump Studio
(now closed), you can get them on ebay sometimes. However, I would be all for RH doing
some. The Herbs too....

I would love to see Doctor Who made into figurines! The possibilities would be quite extensive especially if the old series were taken into consideration. :D

I think you'll find Top Cat is an American cartoon - thus wont be produced by RH!

I don't think we would be against producing characters from American cartoons, afterall they are part of our culture now. It hasn't been a conscious decision, we've just never had the opportunity!

I stand corrected. I was under the impression that RH made figurines that were quintessentially British.

A few suggestions
The Herbs
Adventures of Tintin:
Rupert the Bear
Paddington Bear
Thundercats
Mr Men
Tales of Redwall
Captain Scarlet
Number 452

Rupert Bear has been done by Beswick / Royal Doulton I think.
The Mr Men have definately been done, but i can't remember by whom.
Captain Scarlett is a great suggestion.
I would like to see Joe 90.
I haven't a clue what Tales of Redwall was (Give us a clue?):p .
I belive getting the licence is part of the problem.

a) Rupert Bear has been done by Beswick / Royal Doulton I think.
b) The Mr Men have definately been done, but i can't remember by whom.
c) Captain Scarlett is a great suggestion.
I would like to see Joe 90.
d) I haven't a clue what Tales of Redwall was (Give us a clue?):p .
I belive getting the licence is part of the problem.
a) But they need to be done properly, Rupert is a bear, - fuzzy ish, not smooth and shiny
b) But in a collection with the Little Miss as well, and i have never seen figurines of them
c) It was quite an easy suggestion though
d) Tales of Redwall is a book series by Brian Jacques aimed at children but has a diversity of characters ranging from foxes and badgers to the evil stoats etc. Plus hedgehog nuns. Considering how many books there are, there must be a large enough fan base to merit at least an attempt at producing some collection through basic imagination, as there wasn't exactly pictures to go on.
Animals of Farthing Wood would be good, an excellent series and perhaps using the pieces for raising money for an animal group might work etc. (Fox, Badger, Mole, Toad, Owl, Vixen, Whistler, Adder, Weasel, the Rabbits, Scarface, Rollo etc)

I have it on exceptionally good authority that one show that would adore the chance to have their characters made would be Pigeon Street.
I think it would be the best original choice, as most others pre-mentioned have been done by other companies. There are even new Mr Men ones available now.
However I will say that Sugarlump did Herbs and Bagpuss amongst others and the Bagpuss ones were nowhere near as accurate as the RH collection.
Following on from the other collections
Another from each in my mind would be
Smallfilms - Pogle's Wood (following Bagpuss, Clangers, Ivor and Noggin)
David McKee - King Rollo (following on from Mr Benn)
Regarding the Gerry Anderson ones Terrahawks was my favourite, but I realise that in order Captain Scarlet & Joe 90 would come before it.

Having watched episodes this week, I suggest that Shaun The Sheep may be a good idea for a range.

Here's a thought: What about The Moomins?
There are a stack of possibilities there, from individual figures
to buildings, dioramas...
Moomintroll, The Snork Maiden, The Hemulen, Little My,
Snufkin, Moominpappa, Sniff, The Groke, The Hattifatteners,
Hodgkin...
The list is endless and wonderful. Have RH ever looked into
these rights?

The Smurfs
TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA (hearo, if ur American) TURTLES
with the latter being a movie, their is a deffinate market for it!!

I still think Doctor who would be a great programme to cover
Macca
22nd March 2007, 09:07
Wacky Races would be good, individual characters, and the vehicles
Thundercats and Dangermouse. The Moomins
I think that Tintin would be great and not swamped with merchandise which doctor who and the turtles are.
Ultimately if RH got a license for Spiderman or X-Men it would make my mouth water so much i'd need a bucket. (I know that would never happen though (having said that there isn't much or any in the way of figures (not toys) for the UK))

I originally started this thread with a request for the DIDDYMEN, and they would still be
my first choice - unusual characters , colourful etc, would be great as a Robert Harrop
production...
However, my second choice would certainly be the Herbs, lots of characters, and some
great opportunies for scenes etc with the garden door, the statue, and the greenhouse
etc... the possibilities are endless. I know the Herbs were done by Sugarlump years ago,
but they would still be popular now, and we know RH would do a excellent job with them.
I am sure they would sell well too, people still pay alot for the hard to get Sugarlump
series which come up on ebay sometimes.....
1 Diddymen
2 Herbs

I would love to see the Asterix characters as figures. I don't believe there is a British company that does them. Plus there are hundreds they could do. The Villagers, the Romans, and one off characters like Prolix and Gluteus Maximus.

Now I like the sound of that - Parsley the Lion, Dill the Dog, Constable Knapweed, etc.
You've reminded me of yet another TV gem.

The ultimate for me would have to be Postman Pat (I think its been done by someone else but RH would be much better), that would be closely followed by Wacky Racer.
Would have to be Captain Pugwash for me! Just the thought of explaining to the aged Aunt that I have figurines called Master Bates and Seaman Staines would be great fun!
How about the Wooden Tops - anybody else remember them?
Of course if you do like me then you will know its way past our bedtime!!!
Pugwash has been done , I think by Sugarlump, they still appear from time to time on
ebay.
Woodentops ! I remember ! - Spotty Dog was cool
