Hello all.

I posted on the old board introducing myself and my site
http://trumpton3.homestead.com

I'm now turning my attention to the merchandise and memorabilia associated with the series, and I need some help.
And where better to find the people who might be able to than here ? Because hopefully there's a fair chance that if you're a Harrop's collector, you'll have some other items as well.
And I'm asking for scans and photos of anything you may have-be it books or bagatelle and a single item or a collection. And here's a quick Q & A..

Q."Item Quality ?" -obviously intact and nothing too tatty.
Q."Picture Quality ?" -see the "site news" page where I've included 4 shots of a book ,as the idea is to include several good shots of each item to bring them alive.
Q."What do we get out of it ?" -sadly only my gratitude, the inclusion of a name check and/or link if required, and the knowledge that you're sharing your items for others to enjoy whilst still owning them.
Q."What do I get out of it ?"-nothing,other than providing a service to collectors and enthusiasts.
Q."What about Harrops items ?" -well I'm presuming that they're already all listed somewhere, maybe through the collector's club.If not,it'd need a lot of thought because of the numbers of variations involved. That's even assuming Harrop's would want me involved of course and I've got the web space to cope with them all lol !
Q."Have you got much stuff yourself ?" -not that much to be honest,so not too many worries about sending in stuff that I've already got I think ! But what I have got I'll certainly be putting up in due course.

So there we go.
It may well be killed stone dead by apathy, but better to risk ridicule than not to try. (as some sage doubtless once said)

Btw.If you haven't visited the site for a while,I've recently added an article about Brian Cant and a page called "oddballs" which details fun anomalies, quirks and continuity errors from the 1st 2 series.

Thanks for taking the time to plough through all this, hope it's ok with the board mods and Chigley's still on the way Lord B (honest) !
Jay.

Hi JC

Before I start, I must ask...what's a bagatelle?? :o

I have a few CG/T/C books and quite strangely, a Mrs Honeyman bubble bath bottle complete with bubble bath! The books are original 60/70's items but the bubble bath is slightly more modern although I still wouldn't risk using the bubble bath in it! Let me know if you'd like pics of these.

You have a great website btw

A bagatelle is like a pinball game, but just has little compartments or holes to get the ball in, each one with a different score. So unlike pinball, where the aim is to keep the ball out of the holes, bagatelle involves getting the ball into the holes (preferably the high scoring ones). :D :D :D

Jay

The new extra bits are just as good as the rest. Hence Bracket and I can wait a little longer for Winkstead Hall and the rest of Chigley to be covered.

Apart from a good quality set of Windmill Bakery Windys I am sadly lacking in other CG memorabilia but I wish you luck in tracking down lots of wierd and wonderful stuff.

Now off to check on the bats in the belfry. Bill Oddie and co have got me in the mood to do my bit for wildlife.

Hi there,

I have several of the old postcards from the 1969 set (about half actually), and I also have 4 of the LP's.

Let me know if you could use pictures. :)

Thanks for the comments and your gracious understanding Lord B.Any man with his own private full-sized train set commands respect in my book !

Curious Nice one. There is indeed a Camberwick bagatelle made by Marx I believe.

Cambergirl - I sent you an email earlier today (mon).Hope you got it ok.

Britgirl - I haven't emailed you direct as I'm here now but,yes, they'd be much appreciated,thankyou.........

Can I just ask you and anyone else interested to take a quick look at the Site news page again 1st,which I've updated today just to try and clarify the sort of images I'm after.
And it's best to email 1st before sending any just to touch base.
For your items Britgirl, front and back views of all of them and as higher quality as poss to make the writing (or most of it) legible. And that'd be great.

It's basically just trying to give people as good a visual experience of them as poss -not me being pedantic lol !

I can remember the toothpaste from when I was a kid. Strawberry flavour - yummy!

An extra note, and possibly a little more incentive..........

If you might want to sell the item you get listed, let me know and I'll mark it as "for sale" or "for possible sale" or something similar, together with your email addy
Any interested parties can contact you direct, and you can sort it out between you. It's free, unlike ebay, and I'd have thought a T3 site is as good a place as any to attract a T3 buyer

Anyhow,it's purely an optional extra for you to consider.
I'm just happy to receive the photos & scans and make no distinction between those that want to sell and those that don't.

(Sounds like you ate it rather than brushed with it Curious.
I'm only jealous cos I missed out on that particular shameless promotion !)

I don't remember the toothpaste - but I am quite sure there were some bubble baths - in the shape of Windy, Dr Mopp and a couple of others. Oh I can't quite remember the advert - it would have in the early 70's - quite a catchy tune - oh I can see it now - kids in the bath with loads of bubbles. Oh isn't annoying. I must be at that forgetful age.

Does anyone remember this - it has been bugging me for a week now. In the early 70s there was something I loved to buy from the sweetshop. It was transfers that you used to rub with a coin onto a card picture and you could put them anywhere onto the card. They were mainly cartoons - crazy cavemen, crazy cars etc. Now what were they called?!?! I really used to love them.

Just re-read my mail - I sound like I am going round the bend!

:D

Just thought I'd report back on progress.
Well,I would if there was any to report lol !
Not had a single contribution yet, which doesn't look too promising -he says with heavy under-statement. :o

Oh well.Hopefully,it's the old "I don't want to be the first one turning up at the party" thing -rather than the way I've pitched it.
But even if you are among the first,I'll be waiting till I get a few before I actually put up a specific memorabilia page.

Anyhow,if you're looking to sell the item or items that you send the pics in for,I'm now offering the inclusion of a direct link to your eBay listing-if that's where you choose to sell them.As well as the other options available.
Checkout the "Site News" (http://trumpton3.homestead.com/SiteNews.html) page for full details.(re-written late on Saturday and hopefully made it clearer.)
But whether you want to sell or not,it makes no odds to me and no distinction is made.
All are welcome and I'll keep it open for a while yet,and hopefully it'll start to get going.
Well, this is Trumptonshire after all,so you've got to be optimistic and keep a smile on your face ! :)
