As everyone knows Robert the Robot was the unique transparent robot who co-piloted the XL5 and had the catchphrase 'on our way home'. He's also unique in being the only character voiced by Gerry Anderson himself. Easily the Anderson character I'd most like to see produced by Harrop's Im wondering if the fact he's transparent makes him a more difficult character to produce and possibly more expensive....
As there's a dearth of XL5 stuff available in comparison to the Anderson colour series Im wondering if any more XL5 stuff is due...
...but please bring out Robert before Zoony :D

i dont collect any of the Anderson series but when i read this i had to google "robert the robot" to see what he looked like.
i must say that i would like to see how they would achive this if it was to be made but RHD,
i did find someone who made one themselves at a 1/6 scale (12" high) and it looks rather good to me

That is a smasher and is exactly what I hope RH could produce :D

I think he would be an ideal candidate for a future release....clear resin and paint. Certainly Supermarionation has so many piece's we could produce and all of them have huge Merit. At present Dan and I have been sorting out the Terrorfish.....we are going to make sure that it goes well with the original Stingray piece...not essential but cool nontheless.......we are doing it open mouthed firing a torpedo....

Ah I missed the stingray model but a terror fish would go nicely with my Titan figure...heres an idea though how about that classic moment where the fish is chasing stingray and they both leap out of the water...one of the most memorable parts of the stingray title sequence....

Ah I missed the stingray model...
That's a shame, maybe RHD could re-issue the Stingray collection (If it's actually retired) as i know quite a few people who would like to buy the set especially now it's likely there are going to be additions.
They did so with the Thunderbirds pilots.

Good Point...but we have no plan's at present to re release the Stingray.......however collectorate want and opinion has a huge bearing on what we invest our efforts into......maybe a new limited edition piece in the future.....still ship / vehicle wise others will have to come first.....Terrorfish, Joe 90's Car, Eagle Transporter, Thunderbird 2 dropping cargo pod......to name but a few....
all the best MattB

Perhaps Stingray could be re-released but in it's underwater pen.... I'd love a model based on that 'iconic' scene where Stingray leaps out of the water chased by the terror fish....
However my favourite two possible vehicles would have to be a more detailed model of Junior, the XL5's detachable nose cone which they used to land on the various planets each week (I'd recommend my favourite XL5 episode called 'XL5 to H20' where junior engages in a battle with a dreaded 'aquaphibian' - setting the scene for later Stingray escapades)
and then there's the Sidewinder huge four legged army vehicle - there's a superb scene in the thunderbirds episode 'pit of peril' where this monstrous machine tears its way through African jungle accompanied by an excellent piece of music by the maestro of TV themes Barry Gray.
I did wonder if the fact that 'sidewinder' comes on four pillar-like legs and is armed with two long claw-bearing arms creates special difficulties for the model maker.

I have the Stingray and also Troy Tempest---and just discovered FB and Steve Z..hope to get those soon but availability in the USA seems to be a problem, so there's that issue.
But yeah, Robert is a definite..or maybe a set that has Venus-Robert-Matt in a smaller scale, all in one set, say posed by Matt's rotating desk?
