Congratulations to Mr David Williamson and his team McGinlayduzitagain, Manager of the Month for August 2011. David only won by a country mile, 233 points (a mere 98 points this week alone, or indeed 112 depending which stat you look at? - see my next post), 28 points ahead of 2nd place fantasy league stalwart P Rourke.
International break this week, and break is what I'm going to do to both of Dzeko's legs should I spot them walking down my street ;)

There is a slight anomaly at the moment (9am Monday 29th), in that if you go to your individual team, on the right hand side your weekly points in the Points/Ranking box will be different (and lower) in most cases to the weekly points showing on the left hand side in the blue box above your team.
Anomaly aside, David has still won by a country mile.

Talk about putting a Bengal Tiger amongst the Seagul's.......My head was in my hands last night...I took Rooney off two weeks ago in the belief, somewhat without foundation that Torres knows what the back of the net is...but oh no.....and bloomin Dzeko......welded the Iron coffin well and truly shut for this month. Well done to the lucky bugger on top.......a real chase now and he will be recieving his £40.00 worth of 10 bob notes in the post......well deserved though.
Looks like this is going to be a tough year.....well for me at least down at 44th Avenue....
League looks good though....:D
all the very best MattB:D
ALSO A THX TO NUMBER 452......energised commentary as per usual Sir.......

I have now looked at Mr Williamson's team (and others come to that) more times than I have looked at my own. I don't suppose I am alone in firstly wondering how on earth somebody could pick such a fantastic team within the budget (I'm so paranoid, I even add up the value of the players to make sure there isn't some mistake) - who could possibly believe that one can afford to pick Messrs Dzeko and Rooney in the same team, and still afford 13 other players who score heavily, then having realised all is above board, I then question my own sanity for not picking the team that sorely thrashed the Y-fronts off the rest of us. Then to add insult to injury, you also discover that the value of his team has increased by .4 million. So even if you then copied Mr W's team you would discover that you can no longer afford to do so, even if you could make 15 substitutions all at once.
It's certainly going to be a struggle to make any impression on the lead for the time being. However, never ever give up. As the Birmingham City chant goes ........ Keep right on to the end of the road.
When all seems lost, no matter how you performed, it could be worse this morning, you could be Arsene Wenger
(PS Further to my first post above, the league is stll being updated and Mr W is now credited with the full 112 points)

Please do not do this, as I think I will reinstate him!

Sorry this is a bit belated, but congrats to David Williamson for winning the first month.
