I know a few rock bands that sell out and go all commercial, is it the same with these? When a bull terrier sells out does it become a pekingese?

No i don't think so, but i expect to see a few on ebay pretty soon, but as we only bought 1 of each for our collection and 1 Tri for Kim's Mum's, then none of ours will be going anywhere.
We are just glad to have had the opportunity to own such a low limited edition of such wonderful BT piece's.
These will i'm sure become very sought after indeed, just not sure how long it will take:)

I'm sure i can speak for each and every person who was furtunate enough to purchase one or more of the Breed Standard 25's when i say Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!
We are so glad that we ordered one of each and i am personally made up that i finally managed to convince Kim to allow me to purchase a Breed Standard Bulldog..............But again, much of that is simply down to even Kim knows when she's onto a good thing:D
I now can't wait to get each one home and to display them all together. I'm sure they will look even better standing side by side.
Now if they were all in the final line up for Best of Breed at Crufts 2011 who would i pick out? Of the 4 Bull Terriers that is.
Now that would be a very difficult decission! Well until i have of course seen the Bitch line up!
However i know who i would award the CC and Best Dog to:confused:
How about you?
Have i said Thank You!

I didn't bother with the two BT's, sick to death of them, but i couldn't resist the gorgeous White Bulldog, simply superb. A truly magnificent looking animal.
A question though for RHD,
Q...Why are we always asked for a considerable premium on colourway limited edition pieces yet these standard breeds are the same price as the original LE250 pieces?
Does this mean that future prices of limited editions will be offered in an equally considerate way?
Oh and more breeds please.......
Is it possible to do the BT's in English Football club colours? Just think of the colourways............

We were going to put on a premium which of course is the norm and probably won't be the last, however we wanted to throw in a sparkle of interest into the equation just for the fun of it.......and to keep the editions really low......We will be painting them over Christmas and in a sense the Tri Colour launches the idea of that colourway and which of course will lead to LTD Doggie People. I agree with your sentiments with the White Bulldog...I too think he looks better than the fawn and with a LTD of 25.....mega special.:D
Of course it goes with out saying that any future sculpts of a Breed Standard will be a different breed....absolutely. I would love to find the time to do one and probably should....
all the best MattB:)

Clearly not everything is to everyone's taste and i sincerely hope that only the die hard Bull Terrier collectors and Bulldog collectors managed/manage to get what is truly a magnificent piece.
All i can say is "What an excellent way to see out 2010. A truly memorable year for many a collector but especially for this particular Bull Terrier collector.
I too was extremely shocked when such a low LE size was to remain in the same price bracket as those limited to 250. That was until i heard the logic behind the decission.
All i would like to say is Thank You! just one more time;)
Maybe there is still room for one more colourway upon my shelf..................How about a marble one in Emarald
Hey Matt,
I'm sure you can find time to do us a Bitch version.....................Please!

A Christmas Plea....
Please would the BT collectors please stop asking for more BT's, i think you are more than fairly looked after*
Please give other breeds a chance....oh and those BT collectors who aren't well off for that matter.
Robert harrop collecting is not just collecting one breed of doggie, indeed collecting the many breeds available is (was) the main reason i and many others got into the doggie people, if the 'Country Companions' of yesterday were simply different colourways of Spaniels it certainly would not have started me collecting them.
I accept RHD have to keep a tiny minority happy but there must be a limit to how many BT's can be produced before it reaches saturation point (already reached?), and in the meantime RHD may (probably already have) lose collectors both waiting for their breeds to be produced, or those simply fed up with same old, same old.
In the breed standard so far four out of six have been BT's, and not a brochure goes by without two or three new BT's, this is simply not acceptable to those still collecting Doggie People under it's original conception.
I would also like the colourway situation to change, maybe even back to simply producing all the breed colours at time of release, all for the same price, something does not fit correctly with me under the current LE certificated colourway scheme.
Having said all this i still adore the DP range as a whole, and I still believe the RHD range of Thunderbirds is a collectable second to none in the overall scheme of things.
My suggestions for RHD 2011
Retire the CG collection (there's a surprise!)
The return of a Purrfect People collection
More Breeds in Breed Standard
No more new BT's until 2012
More Thunderbird Colourways
Widen the BD range to include characters from other comics (Beezer, Topper, Eagle etc)
Give Pewters the elbow, or at least produced figurines solely to be produced in pewter.
Of course i realise some of these suggestions will not be well received if they did happen (especially on this forum) but i feel it would be for the overall good of the RHD company in general and their collectors.
Merry Christmas

A Christmas Plea....
Please would the BT collectors please stop asking for more BT's, i think you are more than fairly looked after*
Please give other breeds a chance....oh and those BT collectors who aren't well off for that matter. I would have to say No! Sorry!
Robert harrop collecting is not just collecting one breed of doggie, indeed collecting the many breeds available is (was) the main reason i and many others got into the doggie people, if the 'Country Companions' of yesterday were simply different colourways of Spaniels it certainly would not have started me collecting them. Collecting Robert Harrop is what you make it and if we all lived in the past then and only then would part of this statement be in the slightest bit relevant! However we don't and so it is not! Times move on and it is better to try to adjust and move along happier within them. Otherwise it tends to eat away at people's existance!
I guess this is only a tiny minority opinion, but an opinion no matter how tiny or totally ficticious!
In the breed standard so far four out of six have been BT's, and not a brochure goes by without two or three new BT's, this is simply not acceptable to those still collecting Doggie People under it's original conception. Another opinion not actually based on fact, unless those has a whole new meaning...........
I would also like the colourway situation to change, maybe even back to simply producing all the breed colours at time of release, all for the same price, something does not fit correctly with me under the current LE certificated colourway scheme. I would also like it to change, but i would prefer them not all to be released at the same time, nor would i like to see them all been made as standard and to be perfectly honest i am still trying to find a time when this has actually ever happened in the history of Robert Harrop Designs.
I would like to see a std release, followed by how ever many LE colourways then to end with another std piece, spanning a total of around 4 years. With the LE's been varied between 50's up to 100's to keep everyone on their toes and keep everyone interested..............However that is just my own minority opinion and to be perfectly honest, until such time when i own RHD it really is none of my beeswax what they do.
Having said all this i still adore the DP range as a whole, and I still believe the RHD range of Thunderbirds is a collectable second to none in the overall scheme of things.
My suggestions for RHD 2011
Retire the CG collection (there's a surprise!)
The return of a Purrfect People collection Why was it ever discontinued?
More Breeds in Breed Standard Which Breeds and why? I would suggest a French Bulldog and maybe a Whippet.
No more new BT's until 2012 I think this one lasted about 5 weeks.

So now we need to address the problem of the Running Constable, he`s a lonely boy, he`s never had a playmate.
After the fanatastic tri Postman I say a tri Running Constable would go down a an absolute storm.
And as a LE of 50 or 75 would be the icing on the cake.
C`mon Matt you know it makes perfect sense.
Thanks again for another perfect piece.
