Can anybody clear this mystery up for me? there is currently a BDB01 Big Dennis for sale on ebay stating it is a ltd edition number 32 of 400. I asked the question saying I didn't think this was a ltd edition but was tod by the seller who assured me that this piece is numbered and was a ltd edition piece mine has no such number on the piece or the box also the Harrop list doesn't mention it to be ltd just the 50 with the red nose. Is this another RH mystery HELP!!!!

I always thought that the regular Big Dennis wasn't a limited edition, only the Red Nose Dennis.

From reading the description on eBay it seems that this is a limited edition of 400 signed by Robert Harrop himself, but I've never heard of this, as there always seems to be a lot of Big Dennis pieces about, either on eBay or in stores. Although the pictures show the signature and the number of the piece out of 400. I think we need someone from RH to verify this.

The signature is correct but I don't think we ever produced a limitied edition fo 400 and numbered them. I have asked my colleague and she can't remember any stockist receiving a 400 limited edition that was numbered and signed.

I heard that Pental do a great range of 0.7mm pens which have been issued to good stockists. Also available in blue, red and other popular colours.
PS...My limited edition is number 473/400 :p

I think Big Dennis must be one of the easiest Big Beano/Dandy pieces to find - I see it everywhere and it's always cropping up on eBay. The accompanying Big Gnasher piece is, however, almost impossible to find and I haven't seen one in the shops since it was retired.
I seem to remember that Big Dennis was retired in about 2000, but seems to be almost as readily avaliable as some of the newer pieces.

Yes Steve H they are one and the same but they are dated 1951 - 2000 not 1950 - 2000 otherwise there would be 51 of them and I have the one dated 1951 also the 1996 piece as well. :D :D
