Well, another great day at the mill,:D.............painted a bulldog tile, (Tone didn't want to participate in all that) and it was very weird as you couldn't see the finished article until it has been fired :o. It should be a nice surprise, (or disappointment :() when we pick it up. It was good to see other forum members, old and new and the staff were as pleasant and helpful as usual. Some nice pieces coming up. REALLY impressed with the bull terrier head. Hope Hillbilly's grandsons enjoyed their painting, as much as Claire! (Although rumour has it that she was going to as Kieth, AKA Rosies Dad, to touch something up for her, I didn't want to ask!!!) Good to meet Barkshirebulls who crossed "the pond" to come to the event.
Viv, we met a pleasant family in the kitchen who loved your biccys and wanted to know where you got the cutter from??? They may join this forum when they get back to Wales.
Can't wait for September for our hols and another event!!!
Hope you get out on time tomorrow for the football Russ.

As usual a huge thank you to all at RHD for making our weekend very special, we don't have holidays (choose not to because o the dogs) so our weekend trips to the Mill are all the more special.

We were made very welcome for the two days and chatted to all the staff and the fellow collectors who attended on the Saturday. A special thank you to Robert who was very patient with us and signed another crate full of figures and to Carol and Peggy for helping us with the painting.

It was also lovely to spend a couple of days with Barkshirebulls all the way Florida and their Auntie, hope you both have a safe flight home and see you in September :D

The event pieces were much nicer in real life as always and as always hubby was spotted at the tills at frequent intervals both days ( I have my spies lol)

Looking forward to doing it all again in September, leave is all booked

Last but not least our painting efforts.

The Bull Terrier piece is amazing and so light weight, I thought is was going to be quite have. Another definite addition to our collection and one that I think we will find a special place to display on it's own

Big, I estimate a good 12 inches front to back. This is a prototype so no release date yet, but if Matt was in any doubt as to whether this should make it to production, I suspect the comments over the weekend and on the forum will dispel any such doubts.

It's also worth mentioning that there is a red dragon and lion as well, in a similar style all though those two figures were the complete beast, not just the head. I don't know if anybody took photographs, but if they did, maybe they would like to add them to the forum.

I don't remember that arm being on display - darn life like though, there's no end to Matt's talents. Talking of which, did anybody else see Matt's original pen drawings pre Roosting's - stunning and immensely detailed, I wish I had just a fraction of that skill.

I believe that was the arm of the lovely Matt, for some reason he was trying to keep the piece out of the reach of Mr Purplebudg1e :D

Tone did try to pick up the piece to see how heavy it was and Matt, as always, was being considerate and helped Tone as he went to pick it up. :o I did notice that the floor wasn't carpeted :(

I don't exist ;)

.

Very wise, I was present when Mr Purplebudg1e entered the 'prototype room' - I broke out in a cold sweat and left before something fell to the floor and the soft brown smelly stuff hit the rotating cooling system :D

Loved the painting but my hands wouldn't stop shaking. Carol touched up my Windy for me (Keef was to busy) because I had blue paint on his hat (thank you Carol) but when I got Windy home and Clive had a close look at him, he spotted another little error, I have painted Windy's ear yellow. :o

I will upload a picture of mine and Clive's windy on the Camberwick forum.

Great to see you all again and a special thank you to all at RHD for a great day and to Viv & Keef for my very special gift which I haven't stopped wearing yet. :D

It was an enjoyable day on Sunday. Met Becky (at long last) and even had my photo taken with Robert and Margaret. The painted was good fun. I painted a Bull Dog Doggie Piece although everyone else was painting Dennis The Menace or PC McGarry. Great fun and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. However, I think I will leave the painting to the experts in future.539

I like the piece very much, and although it is a Bull Terrier, I don't think it will appeal to "just" to Bull Terrier enthusiasts. It will appeal to art lovers as well as dog lovers and the BT collectors. A definite MUST have. Well done Matt and well done to Russ for doing the cast/mould, it must've been a nightmare.

Matt I also like the Tiger.............:o:o

PS Hillbilly, Not sure where I could get a soft-glow red light bulb???
