Just been having a surf and i think this site might help us to understand a bit more about what goes into actually producing a lost wax bronze.
I'm sure RHD will soon be alerting us all to exactly how they along with Lunts casting, actually go about the whole process, as i'm not sure if one company does it different to another, but until then, i found this very interesting and informative:cool:

Hi Matt, Dan, anyone who may be reading,
If Shopkeepers wanted to purchase one of these to sell in their shop or any future Bronze's, would they be able to and if so would they have to pay the full purchase price or be allowed the usual trade discounts?
As you still have piece's available to sell, i was just sat here wondering?
On a night like this with not much going on i am sitting here , i phene for someone to answer all my posts:D
Just one last question..................If any of the Lost Wax Bronze's were to double in their limit size, would that mean the price would be halved?

That`s surely a private business decision to be made by RHD and should be of no concern to the collectorate

How can you double a limit? or are you asking about future pieces?

No.
Very forceful Mr Hills! I like it.
Of course it's a no, every bronze takes exactly the same time and effort to produce so why would the price be any different.

so
No.
I'm sorry Mr Hillbilly, but since when were you so qualified or employed by RHD to answer such questions:D
As the Bronze's are open to all, i felt it a question well worthy of me asking it for us all..........I shall be asking the question's in private in future, if that would suit you better Sir!
How can you double a limit? or are you asking about future pieces?
Sorry for your confusion, i was of course talking about future editions.

You don`t have to be qualified or work for RHD to realise that they would be making a loss selling at half price:D.

Got your meaning now Dray, although I haven't a clue as to the answer (double the number / half the value)
I think that deciding on the number to make must be a difficult issue, particularly with the more expensive items - over producing something at £20 clearly not as costly as over producing something at £800. The idea of canvassing collectors (expression of interests) certainly has it's merits, but it's not fail safe (but then what is?). I appreciate that this (expression of interest) has been discussed elsewhere fairly recently so I won't labour the point.
Interesting topic though.

Maybe half the price was a little to cheeky, i personally, as said before prefer the lower end editions, even if that means a higher end price tag, i just thought it would be interesting to start a point of discussion.
I guess those at the Mill will simply take the demand for the Dennis and Windy to calculate the amount for the Nelson.
If it's not broken;)
Now what if we were talking about a Bronze Rhino or Giraffe..........That could be a whole different ball game..............Shirley says "Now that's a discussion":D
