Dear Cinta,
What's the chances of these type of cabinets being made available to us collectors direct from Harrop's? or at least letting us know who manufactures them for you so we could go direct?
Would be interested in having one of these.
Regards
Glynn.

nah, rubbish. What's wrong with a flat pack B&Q slatted shelves!!!
Actually think it is very nice, and RH should sell them to us as well as retailers. Probably wouldn't be enough people interested/able to afford it to make it work though. I'd go for it on monthly payments though.

Looks like you replied the same time as me Glynn, so I think there's proof that they would sell at least 2!! And for those greedy collectors who have several collections might even need a couple!
Poppy would need around 5 of them at least!! :D

That one you see in the picture is mine I will be going to collect it in the next few days.
I did contact Cinta and she will probably tell you they can be purchased through Harrops but they arn't cheap.
Can't wait to go and pick it up the seller sounds really nice he managed to get it from his retailers who closed down and his wife is really worried they have 2 young grandchildren and one fell against it and banged his head so he was told to get rid, his misfortune my good luck.

Yeap they go round and I'm going to pick it up on Monday. Trouble is part of the deal with the wife is I have to decorate the room before it goes up.

well, it could be worse... after you finish putting all the pieces where you want them, she then decides the room needs redecorating

No what is worse is it's bank holiday weekend and I've just spent £500 on a new cabinet and she will probably decide that she should go shopping and spend £500 on clothes.
But at least after I have decorated the room I will now a spot on display cabinet I feel like a kid in a candy store at the moment nearly as good as getting the Red Nose Dennis piece. :D :D

Just sorted my new cabinet out I think it looks great. Click on the piccie nad it does make it a bit bigger but that is the biggest piccie I could get on the forum.

Hi Poppy,
Well now I know who was bidding against me !!!!!! Actually i bid up to half of what you paid and was gob-smacked when it doulbled in the last few seconds. (so it wasn't me who forced the price up). Anyway, I'm glad it has gone to a good home. I'm very jealous though ...............
Cinta,
Please, please and pretty please : Any chance of letting me know what it would cost to purchase one of these? (My collection is spread throughout the house and whilst Mrs 452 is supportive of my collection, I know she would be happier if they were all in the one place).
Yours, forever hopeful

Hi number 452
I was lucky to get it there was 2 mins left and my computer froze luckily when I phoned the wife she was sat at her computer and she managed to win it on hers for me. I did some research before I bid including contacting Cinta to fond out the retail price of one of these and I also spoke to the seller who was brilliant and it was only because his hand was forced that he sold it.
To be honest I didn't care who bid it up I was obviously willing to pay that amount and it was a fair auction and I am delighted with what I got.
If any of you do buy one of these from Harrops good luck putting it together I am a builder and pretty compitant at this sort of thing but even I was crapping myself with all that glass even though it is toughened glass tightening bolts up against glass not a wise move unless you know what you are doing.
One other tip erect it where it is staying as it is also bloody heavy. But at the end of the day worth every nervous moment.

I've had a great idea for a cheap glass fronted display....buy some bargain shelves from B&Q, erect them outside against your front window, go back inside to your favourite armchair and hey presto....
If you have a red nose dennis and do try this alternative display please let me know where you live so I can keep an eye on it when you go shopping

I didn't get back to you on the display cabinets, because they are very very expensive to purchase, not to mention the cost of erecting one. As Poppy says, to put one together is a very difficult job and I have seen one break. not pleasent :(
so I haven't investigated it too much to be honest. If you are really serious then give me a call. I can say that Ikea, Argos and other places like that do some great display cabinets at a fraction of the cost. :)

I looked at some specalist display cabinet brochures and spoke to Cinta before the end of the auction and I am pretty sure I got mine at a snip of the retail price I think you could be looking at something between £1500 - £2000 new.
