Just for information for anyone wondering whether to get this collection - Aardman Animations issue a ad-hoc Wallace & Gromit's newsletter and have just issued Wallace & Gromit's Cracking Newsletter - Issue 17 which features a spot for the new Robert Harrop Range and a link to the web site.
If you click the link below

http://www.mailermailer.com/x?function=view&c=11481295u-5f07f0ec%2a601646o-229d7c92

It opens the newsletter and has links to the W&G web site and the comments forum. The pieces were getting a strong response so likely to be a surge in orders from UK and overseas W&G collectors. All seemed impressed by the pieces but did comment on costs compared to already issued W&G figures from other suppliers but with a limited edition issue its possible that some pieces will sell out or get even harder to find as (strangely) Robert Harrop aren't selling direct and when I looked there was only one seller on Ebay with them.
So if you were thinking about getting them and your bank balance or credit card isn't maxed out then it may be safer to get your set now just in case.

Costello: When you sign up the first baseman, how does he sign his name?

Abbott: Who.

Costello: The guy.

Abbott: Who.

Costello: How does he sign...

Abbott: That's how he signs it.

Costello: Who?

Abbott: Yes.

PAUSE

Costello: All I'm trying to find out is what's the guy's name on first base.

Abbott: No. What is on second base.

Costello: I'm not asking you who's on second.

Abbott: Who's on first.

Costello: One base at a time!

Abbott: Well, don't change the players around.

Costello: I'm not changing nobody!

Abbott: Take it easy, buddy.

Costello: I'm only asking you, who's the guy on first base?

Abbott: That's right.

Costello: Ok.

Abbott: All right.

These W&G figurines look great! I hope a mass of them don't end up on eBay like the Coalports. Having the rocket be a musical box was a splendid idea, so I ordered one. I don't collect figurines but I love W&G. I can't wait to see what the designers have come up with for their other films.

Are there two of you? Jills? Twins maybe both called Jill? I'm little miss curious.

I have no doubt when the W&G figures sell out, which may take quite some time or may not, they will be on Ebay. Luckily they are limited edition of 1000 each i believe so there should be enough to go around for a while. Nice figures though, will go nicely with my Coalport set which in the main aren't as limited. :)

Wallace and Gromit set for inventions show

Those famous British inventors Wallace and Gromit could be set to make an appearance in a new TV show about amazing contraptions.

“We are talking about a series that could involve inventions in which Wallace and Gromit could appear,” said Oscar-winning Aardman Animations founder Nick Park, who created the much-loved Plasticine pair.

Talks with the BBC are still in their early stages, though, so if you can’t wait, you should probably pop along to A World of Cracking Ideas, the new Wallace and Gromit exhibition at London’s Science Museum.

"My dad used to spend time in the shed building things," Park told The Independent, "but I also used to love stories – HG Wells, The Time Machine - you know, those stories which were all about Victorian inventors who built rockets and things like that.”

“I think I used to want to be an inventor as a child and I'm sort of living that out,” he added. “I used to keep a box under my bed with broken toys and old electric motors."

Park created the cheese-loving handyman and his dog while he was a student at the National Film and TV School (NFTS) back in 1982. He managed to get Last of the Summer Wine actor Peter Sallis to do Wallace’s voice after sending him a pleading letter.

Park said Aardman co-founder Peter Lord is set to direct an animated movie called Pirates to follow the company’s previous successes Chicken Run and The Curse Of The Were-Rabbit.

“It is a Python-esque take on a pirate story,” he said. “It will be hilarious.”

Cracking.
