Picture stories

[Stars and garters]

I wonder whether RHD is considering making some of the characters from the picture story features that appeared mainly during the 60s. There are so many to choose from: Billy the Cat; Iron Fish; Q-Bikes; General Jumbo; Black Bob. They're a different style, of course, and unknown to the younger readers, but still a key part of the Beano's heritage.

Personally, I'd love any of them, but I'd really like to pick up a Billy the Cat.

Dammit I knew i forgot someone in the polls. Funnily enough although they were in the sixties, i think General Jumbo still makes appearances in the annuals - he was there last time, and i think they have brought Billy the Cat back last year, so he appears occasionally in the beano, like for a month, disappears again, appears another month.

I'd love to see Jumbo, Bob and Billy - they'd all make great figures.

You could have a special piece with Black Bob and his owner (Glenn?) standing on some rocks or on the moors - I could see RH doing a great job with this one. And General Jumbo could be using his remote control with soldiers and tanks on the ground by his feet.

They are definatley Classic characters!

Loved General Jumbo as a kid, even know. Always wished I had toys like his.

don't we all, with all those toys Jumbo must have been quite a wealthy kid, don't forget all the apache helicopters, warships, aircraft carriers and submarines he had as well as the standard tanks and recruits
