Hi everyone i'm new here and new to collecting RH but i've been watching the forum for about 3 weeks now seeing whats going on and i like the look of this place, hardly any bickering, next to no fighting, a very helpful cinta (much credit is deserved to her) and an all round friendly place.
i recently sent in the club form for my better half which cinta has kindly sorted out for me :-).
I would like to ask a question though about an old RH piece which i asked cinta about a while back, the piece is the judge dredd statues. Now when i saw these i wanted them straight away but last night i managed to get one from ebay at what i thought was a very very low/reasonable price, but what i don't know is what the original rrp was on these pieces? so does anyone know? or maybe cinta???
now i've just got to find the other 4 pieces at a good price like that and i'm sorted :-)
oh and hurry up with the captain scarlet figurines i'd love those in the cabinet.
and again
HELLO EVERYONE
have a good day even though it is manky out side :-)

i don't think this is a mad house really it looks quite calm to me, which is just what i like.
i think it will be down to ikea after christmas to get a new cabinet to display these in. I've bought my other half some of the bagpuss range to start her off because i know she likes bagpuss, and i'm just waiting for the other 4 judge dredd ones to come up somewhere and they will take pride and place on the second shelf :-) , i must get the bagpuss plaque though to go with them.

may i also ask, how do you find out about the events that RH hold? we used to attend bad taste ebar event when we collected those and it was part of the fun meeting all the other collectors but then they stopped doing the events.
i have read on this forum that events are held but is there somewhere they are advertised? or a newsletter that is sent out a month or so ahead of time?

Hey

The events are for members only. I think all the regulars except me (on this board) are members of the Robert Harrop Collectors Club, there are also many other benefits to joining the club. As you have probably read, the events are an excellent chance to nosey around the collections and pick some bargins and prototypes and get a first hand look at all the new peices, i think it is Christo who has some of the pup parade already, and they aint even out yet!!

To join, click the link at the top "club" then there are two buttons above a lot of text, click the one saying application form, all the details are on there, there is also more information in the text!!

Happy Hunting

HELLO redfang, welcome to the forum... it is really friendly here, and besides Cinta keeps an eye on us, making sure we don't get into mischief. Poppy is like the 'old wise woman' you see in movies etc, there is nothing RH related he doesn't know.

The collector's event takes place every 2 years, normally in September - so you've just missed the last one. There is normally exclusive event pieces, this year it was smasher.

hope to see you one here as much as possible, your views etc are valued. Also feel free to add to the Guide to Who's Who thread, its nice to get to know people (although POPPY is the only one not to contribute).

well i'll have to make sure we are available for the next event so that we can attend it and ahve a good old nosey around.
i like this place it's really homely like.
i won't get too opinionated about things though my fingers have a habbit of running away with me and before i know it i've typed out and essay.
I do have one small thought though, Macca you said poppy was a he lol after you said she was the wise old woman lmao, whoops lol.

The only bit they ever get right is the OLD but I don't care.

Now Poppy, you know you are only as old as the women you feel ...... so as long as you don't go around touching up old grannie's then you're fine (hehehe us oldies have to stick together I think!)

Hiya Redfang and welcome :-)

By the way Redfang ... your cabinet from Ikea won't last long as you start to collect .... I tried that one yonks ago and outgrew two cabinets now .... so think again lol ....

Hi Redfang, welcome :)

I sent out your membership pack out last night so you should receive it soon :)

Did you try and get the 2000AD range from www.collectorsgifts.co.uk I am sure they may still have some of them.

redfang

hi cinta
yes i did check them out but i couldn't find any reference to the judge dredd things on the site.
i'm not in a major rush to get them, it takes away the thrill of the hunt if you get them too easily and straight away all in one go, one by one bit by bit makes it more exciting :-)
and thanks for sending out the pack, will make sure to hide it somewhere :-)
thanks

redfang

I think he means because he is a member of the collectors club he pays a subscrition and because the members get a card it is something that the sub has gone towards.
But if he had any common he could do what I did I joined quite late and got Cinta to send me some of the cards from early years and they never cost me a penny. :)
Also that B****Y unpainted Bulldog is getting on my nerves now.

Got it in one Poppy. I just meant that it obviously comes from our membership fee, but it wasn't a dig.

I'd be honoured if you all chipped in and bought me an xmas card, but don't include any fake money, it's a sore subject at work for me at the minute, one of my real hates!

Wish I'd thought of pestering Cinta for the cards when I first joined , but at the time I never realised that the collection was so big and didn't think Id take it so seriously.

Actually, i've you think about it, how much would Gnipper, Chester, Wilfrid or Winston, sell for these days, if available on the open market at RRP?

Cinta
14th November 2005, 12:25
If shops still had them, we would recommend the retail price by £14.95 each. I know many go for a lot more money, so if you think about it £12.50 per year subscription. You must be getting a fantastic bargain if your subs pays for everything you get sent :)

Your help alone is worth the subscription Cinta ;)

Annoying my girlfriend with "stupid" collector's club pieces and mail is worth the money for me!
