Will the defending champion progress through to the next round?

There had to be 17 groups in the end but it will give us 34 minimum for the next round plus the chance to add 6 if there are some ties taht will be 4 groups in the semi then probably best 2 in each group plus best 2 runners up to make up a 10 piece final. Don't know wheather to seed the group winners or just say sod it if they end up all in the same group so be it.

personally i think it'll be cool to have a knock out round after the second group stage - from the last eight winner vs a runner up
