Hi

I have a RED NOSED DENNIS for sale and am open to offers at the moment.

Having spoken to Cinta I have decided to offer the piece within the club first, rather than putting it on eBay, however if no response within the club that is where it will go!

I know the feeling of owning a RED NOSED DENNIS and it's truly second to none - especially if you think you will never get the chance of it.

So, if anyone is interested please email me - I do have pictures if you would like them.

Thank you.

I will pm you on the weekend with a price, but feel that someone IS able to pay more. Maybe i need to get that job! :(

Firstly I would like to say welcome to the forum Mini the Minx I beleive we have been emailing each other for the last week or so anyway.
Good luck with the sale of the Red Nose Dennis this should get a few posts on the site and cause a few eye brows to be raised plus it may empty somebody's bank account as well.

why do you need 2?

POPPY
15th October 2005, 17:16
I don't need 2 Macca but I had the chance so took it. As you know I am Harrop mad and had the money spare at the time so bought it. They look great together in the cabinet as you can now see one of them no matter where you are in the room.

Come on members lets get back to the subject of this post. Who is after the Red Nose Dennis out of you lot if this was on the old forum this thread would have been about 3 pages long by now. :p :p

Hiya everyone

Having had a few people interested in the piece and my having to turn them down basically as they were offering way below what I paid (and I'm sorry but I can't afford to give it away less than I paid) and it being hard to have to say no to collectors who obviously really want the piece, I have decided to list it on eBay, the listing is below.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6217594606&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1

It's not a case of greed just basically I can't afford to 'give it away' sorry.

I would love to have a Red Nosed Dennis....

but unlike Poppy i don't have thousands lying around to spare, in fact it is going to be years before i am going to have the opportunity to spend that amount of money on the piece i am after all a student.

Minnie - i could always put in a bid and pay you in monthly installments until i reach the full amount

Minnie_the_Minx
16th October 2005, 09:10
Awww Macca - I wish I could afford to do that - honestly, the feeling I got when I got the one I am keeping was so great - I know this piece will do the same to someone else.

It's just a real shame everything comes down to money at the end of the day and I like you never ever thought I could get one of the dennis' and anything (if anything) I make on the second one is just to offset the first one as really I can't afford to be spending that kind of money either.

So Minnie did you sell Poppy his second, and have 2?

I remember someone else said on this forum that one of their friends had 2, but wouldnt sell them one.

Wish i could just get one... im kicking myself for not buying one when they were released! Maybe when my course has fnished!

Poppy, so will you be selling your second one sometime in the future? *Wink* Id rather have bought some of the auction pieces, if i already had a rednose dennis.

POPPY
16th October 2005, 16:40
Mini never sold me my second and beleive you me if I could have made the event I would have bought a prototype or colourway I would have certinly had a dig at the yoyo colourway can't beleive it went so cheap, the newer pieces wouldn't have interested me so much.
At the last event I couldn't afford to bid so had to leave it and was looking forward to this one but couldn't make it.

Minnie_the_Minx
16th October 2005, 17:53
Nope I didn't sell Poppy his second one .... it just happened we got them at the same time thats all :-) - I do currently hold two though.

Steve_H
16th October 2005, 19:07
Ah, so your keeping one!

Very sensible move! The thread confused me abit, as i thought you were selling your two dennis's but keeping the rest of the collection.

@ Poppy, that was my thoughts on the yo-yo. I had been trying to get a job all summer, with no luck. It was annoying as i could have made that money in afew weeks and actually bidded on something.

Theres always 2 years time :)

Minnie_the_Minx
16th October 2005, 19:21
:-) no way am I parting with one of them - it's taken me long enough to get one! My Collection isn't going anywhere either - been collecting since the start and I'll probably still have them when I am old and grey (just don't tell my husband).

How much do you reckon it will go for...£900 tops or more , what do you reckon?????

POPPY
22nd October 2005, 16:50
Interesting question Saturday night not everybody around might be at the pub? Christmas around the corner could make a great pressie but on the otherhand people watching the pennies.
But get 2 people desperate for it and it could get upwards of £1000 - £1500
or it could go for the £800 bid price.
I honestly hope it flies.

Steve_H
22nd October 2005, 18:39
Im pretty sure everyone is waiting for the deadline 2m night.

Id pay 600, probably abit more. But i think it will go for around 1100 as their rarer than rocking horse poop!

Steve_H
22nd October 2005, 18:58
Hmmm... why did i think it would finish tomorrow night?

Minnies in the money!

Dandie
22nd October 2005, 19:11
£920 Not a bad guess at £900 , still not sure whether that is still a lot for a figure which has 50 made. I would of paid £500 at most, I reckon a couple more will end up on e bay now like the plaque, I was trying for a plaque when they were over £500 and waited and got one for £200 in the end so who knows eh.

POPPY

Don't think there will be to many Red Nose Dennis's go on ebay that is the 4th ever 1st one went on 21st Oct 2002 that sold for £355 the 2nd one was on 18 mths ago that got withdrawn starting price £400 withdrew due to the lady couldn't answer the questions as she was not a collector they were her X boyfreinds who left them behind and she sold them the 3rd one went in the complete collection which was the same Red Nose Dennis that sold for £355 originally and the one that ended tonight.
The plaques are no where near as rare as Dennis.
I said on the old forum site a while ago that the sleeping giant was Large Gnasher just look at this link I found the old website last night http://content.blackcountry.com/harropubb/Forum1/HTML/000970.html hopefully it will show the thread if not search sleeping giant and still beleive this to be correct they are less common than the plaque.

Dandie
23rd October 2005, 16:43
A large Gnasher on ebay now is going for over £155 which isn't bad considering the retail price. Funny thing is you can still get these in some retailers and on the net.

If you can find a large Gnasher at rrp in any shop I'm a china man sorry but no chance unless it is on a remote island somewhere.

Dandie
23rd October 2005, 21:49
Your a Chinaman, one in Sheringham in Norfolk Been there a while, I already have one , and before you ask I'm not into buying and selling on eaby so I suggest you get about more.

*** **** in Redcar, offer 20%off all figures, and thats at RRP, wow poppy, i always thought u were an Englishman!?!?!?!

POPPY
24th October 2005, 15:16
Oh no there isn't cause I phoned and asked them and the lady said it went ages ago, so I am English again yipee.

Macca
24th October 2005, 16:37
You cannot be 100% certain that there isn't a large Gnasher in a shop out there somewhere. Unless you've phoned every shop in the stockist list and produced a huge phone bill, and even then there's no telling that they are telling the truth. Could be saving it for a walk in customer and save all the hassle of posting the item...

Now girls, calm down

Well said Macca...spot on.

POPPY
24th October 2005, 18:24
I don't disagree with none of that but it is still very unlikely. I supose the same could be said for the Red Nose Dennis & the 1st music box from next door. You are more likely to find them in charity shops given by people who don't know what they are.
Anyway what is this gang up on Poppy day :p

Dandie
24th October 2005, 18:36

the 1st music box from next door. You are more likely to find them in charity shops given by people who don't know what they are.

i remember on the old forum, that someone did find the 1st music box in a shop somewhere, and alot of the regulars were surprised, i cant remember who it was, but perhaps on of them next door might

Anyway what is this gang up on Poppy day :p

Well it'll look suspicious if i agreed with the other senior member on here, i'd be acused of pulling rank

There may well be one in a shop, but didn't Poppy say RRP? If anyone can find one for £49.95 Ill pay for it and they can keep it!! (Not).

Saw a Beano Six O in a shop 6months ago, but they wanted nerly £100. Told them Id come back later....hope they're not still waiting for me!

Not OAP's, refer it to football

First team players of a football team are the senior squad (members) - the professionals

Replacement / reserve players are members

and the juniors are those reserves never going to see first team football

and the moderator is obviously the gaffer

Summary

Senior Member - First team
Member - Backup players - like no2 goalie
Junior Member - Reserve player
Moderator - Manager

Now i don't feel old

Not quite but wish it was it would be an excuse for another party.
Woke up the day after my 40th and my mates had carried home a set of temporary traffic lights and put them on my door step along with a ramp sign and cones with the yellow lights on top.
Did anybody ever see only fools and horses when they painted their dear old mums head stone with illuminous paint supplied by trigger and it shone like a beacon in the dark well that is what my garden was like when I woke up the next morning at 6am spooked the s**t out of my dogs when I opened the door to take them for a walk.
