Its sad that someone will turn up to the event and then only a matter of hours after it has finished put it on Ebay and already its up to £21 with 6 days to go

Thinking about it every one who attended the event had the opportunity to purchase each of the event pieces. I imagine people are flogging off the pieces they don't collect to pay for the one they do. I'll get off my moral high horse!

I'm hoping there may be some pieces left for those of us who couldn't make it at the weekend! I'd hate to think my collection wasn't complete!!!

I also hope that you had better weather than we had for my brother's wedding (the reason we weren't there!) - it was a bit wet in Derbyshire unfortunately!

Hopefully be there next time.....

We still have a few painting kits available direct from us for any of those wishing to purchase one. The cost is £15.00 plus £2.50 postage and like to person on ebay, strangely enough we also provide the paints and brushes :)

Give me a ring if anyone would like a kit. :)

?????? We were watching the same thing, I saw it go for £72.00 which is very nice for the person who did sell it. I wonder how much he gave to charity

What do you know, I'm a junior again, just like my bruv Dangerous. It's good to be back, and while I'm at it, can I take this opportunity to thank Dangerous for the 'tip off' and Cinta for the 'service' - you both know what I'm talking about.

The way mum tells it you had the tip off years ago. Me, I'm a proud Cavalier!

What is everyone's opinion regarding the quailty of this piece. Personally I think the face and hands are a little wishy washy or have I got one which has missed being painted?

The actual model and pose itself is excellent.

Please note I am not having a dig at anyone at R.Harrop I am just interested to know if anyone else has the same opinion.

Regards,
Glynn.

Opinion, hang on, I'll just go and ask if i'm allowed one of those.

Glynn -

I like the piece. It's particularly well modelled, and has more than a touch of Matt's original pieces than Simon's more recent ones.
(The profile of the legs and the lapels on the jacket betray it as probably being Simon's work, but he's done a particularly good job on it.)

On the subject of paint, I'm convinced RHD have changed their paint stock somewhere along the line. The "wishy-washyness" you speak of is evident across the range - the new paint is more translucent than the old.
But it might just be down to differences in the hand-painting of the pieces. My Mrs Cobbett is so pale she's almost white (but I wouldn't want her any other way). It is amazing how much minuscule differences in painting add up to give each piece a totally different personality. I've broken and had to replace 2 pieces, and the replacement ones have been just as well painted but ever-so slightly different.

My guess is that the bloke who purchased the Foreman for £101 is now feeling a bit sick having noticed that the next one went for £72 and the latest has gone for £54. For a brief moment I felt sorry for him, then I thought 'Nah........' :p

.............. but then again, not as sick as the chap who paid £125 at the 'Buy it now' price
