Will there be a similar method in place where by members will be able to pre-order the limited edition pieces as with Mickey Murphy's Bakers Van?

My stockist was asking the same thing. I've placed my order anyway, just in case the system doesn't apply this time.

No, that was just for the Spring music box. They may do another voucher scheme for next year's music box (The Fire Engine?) If so, the autumn journal should contain details.
But I notice that the Post Office is down to 1,000 rather than the usual 2,000. My stockist has problems getting LE's at the best of times. I phoned them up on Friday, and I was the third collector.
He only got 3 last time - if he gets less than that, I'm in trouble.
These LE's are like rocking-horse droppings at the best of times - cutting down the issue by 50% won't help. I can see why RHD have done it - more LE's for the other ranges, which is only fair.
The voucher scheme worked pretty well last time. Despite my reservations, lets hope they repeat it for next year's music box.

I suspect the lower numbers are mainly to do with lower sales dare I say! Not sure the scenes have sold as well as other pieces, as the older ones still seem to be readily available. (I was bought two bakery scenes and still have the spare as no-one seems interested.) Don't think there will be a problem with that.
I'm sure the Christmas piece will be a different matter though! Already put my request in with my stockist. Hope it will be out fairly soon otherwise it will be very uncomfortable having my fingers crossed for such a lengthy period of time. ;) ;)

I agree with Windy Girl. I suspect the sales may be starting to fall which is only natural considering what's left to produce.
Just as the flat was starting to get a bit cramped (already the big Trumpton clock and Mr Crockett's truck have been put away) it looks as though I'm moving job.
In order to avoid a 65 mile commute each way I'm going to speak with the nice mortgage people to see what can be done. I foresee a doubling of available space very soon as long as they don't find out how much the new pieces will cost.

I'm also moving this weekend.
My babies are all tucked away in their little green cardboard coffins waiting to be unpacked in their new home.
I have no idea where I'm gonna put them all in the new place.
Moving house, who'd do it?

My first message I have sent has to be a moan.
Have just had e-mail from my stockist who has supplied me for the last 3 years that he will not be able to get the Post Office as his allocation has been cut.If I cannot get this piece it will be the only one missing from my collection.Perhaps there should have been a voucher system as before.

Mr Wantage -
Welcome aboard!
We're all feeling a little aprehensive about not being able to secure the Post Office, but a little phoning around of other stockists usually yeilds results. These things tend to work themselves out - it's a little early to panic yet!
By the way, you need to close your UBB tags - repeat the code with a forward slash inside the square bracket - eg: [/bold] or use the close current tag / all tags buttons on the posting screen.
:D :D :D :D

Just ordered my limited pieces and was shocked to find that the Post Office piece has a RRP of £49.00, I thought that this was really quite steep. It's got to the point now where I don't think I can keep collecting at these prices. Anyone else think the prices are getting too steep?

Yes.
I was having this very same conversation with my stockist when I ordered the Post Office.
I accept all the reasons Dan mentioned when defending the high price of the Baker's Van earlier this year, and I agree that these pieces represent good value for money BUT
So far this year I've spent $60 on the Baker's Van, £40 on the Milk Float, and will spend £50 on the Post Office and maybe another £40 on Chippy's van.
That's £190 on 4 pieces - an average of £47.50 each.
The days of spending £15 every month or two on a new figure seeme to be a thing of the past. This collecting lark has gone from being an affordable diversion to an expensive hobby.
You're not alone. From here on in I'm seriously considering which pieces I buy and which I don't.
But I still want that Fire Engine....

Yeah you're right CO, this collection is as addictive as it can get.
But hey, it's my only (serious) vice and there's a lot worse things I could be doing! So until I get arrested for it (or my husband divorces me) I don't think I'm going to be able to stop....

And yes, it does sound expensive I guess, but I work in the art business where collectors pay £500+ for an artist's latest release, so really it's quite a cheap collection!
Besides, if I ask for them as presents, someone else pays for them and I actually get something I want for a change. I will probably buy the limited editions to make sure I get them and ask Santa for everything else.
In the meantime - must go and sell another work of art to pay for the new pieces - bye for now!!

like Co says I think we have had this conversation before many times. I, would say to you all, wait until you see this piece. The detail is unbelieveable, and flawless. :)

I think at the end of the day you get what you pay for. Modeling, painting and the rest of the stuff that goes in these pieces doesn't come cheap I would imagine it is a very highly skilled job.
What is £190 these days 2 or 3hrs labour on a car 3 months subscription to a gym or in my wifes case 10 mins is the Next cataloque, at least at the end of the day these pieces have got a 2nd hand value if you get desperate.
